Tool industry looks confidently at INTERNATIONAL EISENWARENMESSE KÖLN 2022
“In view of the current developments, the rejection of the hardware fair 2021 is strongly supported by our member companies, but at the same time very regrettable,” commented FWI chairman Michael Kleinbongartz on the decision of the Koelnmesse. “It is tragic that despite the excellent hygiene concept of Koelnmesse, external circumstances do not allow the fair to be carried out,” Kleinbongartz continues.
“No one has made this decision easy,” adds FWI Managing Director Stefan Horst. “In the intensive and cooperative discussions with the Koelnmesse, however, the doubts prevailed as to whether, against the backdrop of the critical Corona situation, the Fair 2021 could have fulfilled the expectations as the undisputed leading international trade fair for the industry.”
Exhibitors, organisers and visitors can now concentrate on the next regular trade fair date from 6 to 9 March 2022 and continue the success story of the International Hardware Fair under better conditions.
Around 110 tool and dowel manufacturers with production in Germany are organised at the FWI. The tool industry generated sales of 5.0 billion euros in 2019 and employed around 32,400 people. Maintaining the wide variety of German manufacturers, designing fair competition and strengthening Germany’s production location are the main objectives of the association.
In addition, there are 50 extraordinary members of the FWI. These are industrial companies close to the tool and its distribution channels as well as service providers and foreign companies.
